Epl Game Week 2 Predictions
The opening games of the 2016/17 Premier League season gave us some clues about which teams will finish at the top and the bottom, but there's still a long way to go, and there are a few teams who have a strong chance of turning around last weekend's form and claiming points this time around. In this article we look at the Premier League top bets for Week 2 of the season.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 19
Manchester United vs. Southampton
United will be pleased with an opening win against Bournemouth that showed a capability to chase bigger prizes. Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks his old unstoppable self - he scored a fabulous goal on Saturday - and Wayne Rooney seems to have gained a spring in his step. Southampton is a work-in-progress, new manager Claude Puel having seen his team draw against Watford. In the first official Friday-night Premier League game, United will be seen as the clear favourite.

Bleacher Report Epl Predictions
- Last week, Lawro and guest swimmer Adam Peaty both predicted a win for Manchester City against Tottenham and 62% of you agreed. But only 18% of you were correct - with the teams drawing 2-2.
- Over 2.5 goals means that the Premier League teams involved in a game will score at least 3 goals between them. So, if you think a goal-fest is coming, it's probably where you'd bet. Examples of winning predictions here are 3-0, 2-1, 4-2 etc. The actual result is immaterial, as it's.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 20
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Crystal Palace
Although Spurs aren't the finished article, they're sight closer to it than Palace, with Alan Pardew still scrabbling around the late-summer transfer market for like-for-like replacements for sold players. The latest departure is Yannick Bolasie to Everton, and Moussa Sissoko won't be signed in time for this game. This looks like Spurs all the way, but don't be surprised if Harry Kane and company take until the second half to break through.
Top Bet: Half-Time/Full-Time result of Draw/Tottenham 16/5 with Betfair
Stoke City vs. Manchester City
Pep Guardiola likes an attention-grabbing team selection, and his dropping of Yaya Toure and Joe Hart seems to spell the end for both City stalwarts. It's reasonable to say his team looks like it's still adapting to his coaching methods, and the 2-1 narrow defeat of Sunderland will give Stoke the message that it can try and get a result. Arnautovic and Shaqiri will need to be at their menacing best for that to happen.
Top Bet: 3/1 with BetVictor for a draw
Watford vs. Chelsea
Watford made a lot of changes in the summer, but seems to have emerged as about as good as it was previously. That wasn't the end goal, of course, and it remains to be seen how far the club can get with its new signings, and Walter Mazzarri, inexperienced in English football, as manager. Antonio Conte, another Italian new to the Premier League, will fancy his chances of taking an away win, after a largely-impressive performance against West Ham on Monday.
Top Bet: 21/10 for Eden Hazard to score anytime with 888sport
West Bromwich Albion vs. Everton
West Brom supporters are used to people predicting relegation, but the truth is that Tony Pulis manages a tight ship that might not be full of flashy international footballers, but has a strong team spirit. Saido Berahino and last weekend's goalscorer Salomon Rondon look like a strong partnership, and the Baggies' defence is as solid as ever. Everton, now with raised expectations thanks to new foreign owners and new signings, needs to step up its game this weekend.
Top Bet: West Brom 2/1 to win with William Hill
Swansea City vs. Hull City
Swansea lost Ashley Williams to Everton before the opening weekend, but still looked good enough at the back to beat Burnley. That result against another relegation favourite won't change the fact that the team is weakened from last season, where it narrowly escaped the drop. Hull is even more depleted, and although the win over Leicester City last weekend was miraculous, it might be that the same eleven find that a hard result to repeat.
Top Bet:13/5 with Sportingbet for a draw
Burnley vs. Liverpool
The Shakers were disappointed not to come away from Swansea with a point, but this is a very similar squad to the one that went down two seasons ago, and that team always performed better in front of home support. Liverpool was fragile at the back but thrilling going forward in the 4-3 win over Arsenal, and the form of Philippe Coutinho might be too much for the dogged Burnley defence.
Top Bet: 9/5 with William Hill for Coutinho to score anytime
Leicester City vs. Arsenal
Leicester in crisis? It's only been one game, but that was a very winnable game against Hull, which last season's title-winning side lost. It's now crucial that Claudio Ranieri's team puts in a much-improved performance against Arsenal, itself chasing a confidence boost after defeat to Liverpool. Arsenal's defence famously dislikes the pace-on-the-break of peak Leicester, but most likely this is going to be a close match, possibly ending in a draw.
Top Bet: 13/5 with BetVictor for a draw
SUNDAY, AUGUST 21
Sunderland vs. Middlesbrough
The Wear-Tees derby isn't typically as hotly-contested, or passionately-supported, as Sunderland vs. Newcastle, but this is a fascinating game for many reasons, taking place between two improving teams with a lot of hope for the season ahead. Middlesbrough has spent big on recruits like last weekend's scorer Alvaro Negredo, but Sunderland has nurtured an impressive group of youngsters. Both teams are likely to score.
Top Bet: 9/4 with BetFred for a draw
West Ham vs. Bournemouth
A first game at the London (formerly Olympic) Stadium for West Ham, and Slaven Bilic will hope for an easier time than was experienced against Chelsea, when the Hammers were suckered by a superb Diego Costa goal on Monday. Bournemouth will sense a chance to take a point on what is unfamiliar territory for West Ham's players and fans, and Eddie Howe knows how to get a result away-from-home against supposedly bigger clubs.
Top Bet: 21/5 with BetFred for Bournemouth to win
